Business & Tourism Publishing Asia (BTPA) would like to assure you that we will do everything possible to protect your personal information held in hard print and electronic storage by the company. In any event we assure you that we will only use any information for the purpose of conducting our business in a professional, moral and ethical manner. Please read the following policy to understand how we will treat your personal information when you deal with BTPA.

User Terms and Conditions:
Users shall mean any natural person or legal entity who has registered as a User on BTPA’s website. To register, you must be a natural person who has attained the legal age of eighteen (18) years or a legally incorporated business or company in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. This website is not made available to persons who are categorized as incompetent to enter into a contract under Singapore law, including but not limited to minors, undischarged bankrupts etc. BTPA reserves the right to terminate your registration or otherwise refuse access to the website if it is brought to our attention that the User is in breach of these terms and conditions. In the event you register as a business entity, you represent that you are duly authorized by the business entity to accept these terms and conditions and you have the authority to bind the business entity to the terms and conditions set out herein. In this regard, BTPA reserves the right to request that you provide a letter of authorization from the business entity you are representing.

Users shall be solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their log in information including display name, password and other personal information in a safe and secure manner. In addition, Users must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of their accounts.

Each User represents, warrants and agrees that:
  1. Such information and material whether submitted during the registration process or thereafter throughout the continuation of use of the website is accurate, true, current and complete; and
  2. User will undertake to maintain and promptly amend all information and/or material to keep it true, current and complete. We shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly in whatsoever way for any loss or damages as imposed as a result of Users’ failure to comply with these terms and conditions.

Content

BTPA allows its Users to post content, photos, comments, add links, contribute and publish articles on “The Voice”, and other materials, provided that such posting is conducted in accordance with the laws of Singapore, including but not limited to the Copyright Act (Cap. 63). Anything Users post or otherwise make available on our website is referred to as “User Content”. Users retain all rights and are solely responsible for the User Content posted on our website.

By submitting User Content to “The Voice”, Users warrant and represent that the content is :-
  1. original;
  2. for the purpose of promoting and educating the business and tourism industry;
  3. legal, accurate and in no violation of any law or regulation;
  4. in no violation of any right of third parties;
  5. not misleading in any way
  6. not harmful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, invasive of another party’s privacy, hateful, threatening or other characteristics that are deemed unethical and unlawful.


You admit that you are the sole author and are responsible for the content submitted by you. You acknowledge that the publishing of content on “The Voice” is subject to our absolute discretion.

User Content, if not original, must have the requisite licences. In the event that any User Content is found to be infringing or in any way in contravention of these terms, Users agree to indemnify BTPA and Biz Events Asia from any liability caused by such actions, including any costs and damages arising therefrom.

By submitting content onto our website, Users grant BTPA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferrable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence to use, store and display, reproduce, re-publish, modify, create derivative works, perform and distribute User Content. Nothing in these terms shall restrict other legal rights BTPA may have to User Content, for example under other licenses. Users acknowledge that BTPA reserves the right to remove or modify User Content for any reason, including User Content that we believe violates these terms or our policies, but that BTPA is under no obligation to monitor the content and to take necessary actions such as removing, altering and blocking submitted content.

BTPA Privacy Policy:
When dealing with the company, either as a client, supplier or a reader, you could be asked at various times to provide information including but not limited to, details such as your name, company name, position, e-mail address, mailing address or other similar information about you. This information that we keep could have been provided by you when; you visit our stand at a trade exhibition; when our company representative meets with you and you provide a business card; when you complete an electronic form on a website; or when you browse pages on our websites. Your reason for connecting with our company may have been:
  • Business sales
  • Readership
  • Supplies
  • Magazine subscription
  • E-newsletter subscription
  • Competition entry
  • Educational trip application
  • Site inspection requests
  • Similar applications to the above


Our website may employ a standard technology called a “cookie” to collect information related to how the site is being used including data such as pages visited and inferred preferences. As well as aggregate site data, “cookies” are pieces of electronic data that your browser and your operating system store on your hard drive for your record keeping purposes. “Cookies” can store a user’s id and password, personalise home page and identify which part of the site has been visited.

In most cases we use your business details to add to our distribution database which will enable you to receive publications. If you have chosen to subscribe to our e-newsletters this will be sent to your designated e-mail address each time an issue has been published as well as other e-mails keeping you up to date about other products and services or upcoming events.

BTPA may use your information to process any transactions you undertake with us and for internal administration and analysis. Your information maybe disclosed to third parties to complete your transaction to enable us to provide the services you have requested.

As part of its business BTPA may rent or trade your mailing address to a third party for the distribution of its promotional information without your express written consent. The selection of third parties is scrutinised by senior management. BTPA will only deal with entities that are professional, ethical and have similar business scruples to BTP. You can be removed from our distribution database at anytime by sending an email to hello@bizeventsasia.com or phoning direct +65 6337 8781, or faxing +65 6337 9060. In providing your details the company accepts that you are consenting to inclusion on our distribution database.

There may be links on our website to other entities for which we have no control. The use of information and/or privacy provided by the operator of a linked site as to any information you provide in accessing a linked site is in no way subject to this privacy policy. BTPA takes no responsibility for any privacy policies or practices of any web site accessible from our site.

BTPA operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewalls and password protection systems, to guard against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under the company’s control. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as is required and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers. Any particular sensitive information such as credit card number is encrypted (encoded so that it can not be read by anyone other than the secured server) prior to transmission, provided that the user accesses our site with a browser that supports at least a 128-bit encryption. ​

BTPA may store and disclose any information allowed or required by applicable law or when deemed advisable by us. This means that we may make disclosures that are necessary or advisable to conform to legal and regulatory requirements or processes and to protect the rights, safety and property of us, users of the site and the public.

Copyright Policy:
Complaints regarding content posted on the BTPA website
BTPA respects the intellectual property rights of others and desires to offer a platform that is free of violation of these rights. Our User Terms and Conditions require that information posted by users be accurate, lawful and not in violation of the rights of third parties. To promote these objectives, BTPA provides a process for submission of complaints concerning content posted by our Users.

Please note that in the event BTPA receives a complaint, BTPA reserves the right to forward the complaint and the complainant’s contact information to the User who allegedly posted the content under complaint. BTPA also reserves the right to disable, suspend and/or terminate the accounts of Users, at any time pending investigations into the actions complained of, and/or where the complaint is found to be valid.

Please note that any complaint submitted must be made in good faith and is true to the best of Users’ knowledge. A false complaint may give rise to personal liability for defamation and groundless threat of infringement, among other things. Users may therefore want to seek the advice of legal counsel before submitting a complaint.

To assist BTPA in investigating complaints, please ensure that any such complaints contain the following information :-
  1. A description of the work that has allegedly been infringed including its date of creation;
  2. A description specifying the location on our website of the allegedly infringing material;
  3. Your email address and your mailing address and/or telephone number;
  4. A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner;
  5. A statement by you that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
