PCMA-ICESAP appoints new APAC director

Former Cegos Asia Pacific director to lead the organisation as former ICESAP president, Nigel Gaunt, steps down.

The Professional Convention Management Association and Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia-Pacific (PCMA-ICESAP) has appointed Antonio Codinach as regional business director APAC to replace the outgoing Nigel Gaunt.

Codinach joins the organisation from Cegos Asia Pacific, where, as director of client services, he ran employee engagement and training programmes across nine countries within the region.

Commenting on his appointment, Codinach said: “I’m very excited by the opportunities that PCMA-ICESAP has here in the region. As the leading global provider of business event education, there’s a real sense of momentum and PCMA’s presence is growing fast throughout APAC.”

PCMA-ICESAP also appointed Patricia Cheong as associate director for development, who will work alongside Codinach to forge new brand partnerships. Her expertise in the conferences and events industry, especially in her previous role as General Manager at Sphere Exhibits, is expected to accelerate PCMA’s regional growth opportunities.

Michelle Crowley, vice president, global growth & innovation, PCMA said: “As the business events industry grows in stature across the globe, the rapid establishment of our brand in Asia reveals a keen interest for professional resources throughout the region. With the addition of new and talented team members we look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience with our business events colleagues here.”
