Following an ambitious 12-month renovation, The Datai Langkawi has announced three key additions to its executive team.
Céline Maginel joins the hotel as executive director of marketing & communications, Melissa Mohan takes on the role of director of marketing communications, and Stéphanie Walters has been appointed as director of sales.
The rainforest hideaway reopened this month after a mega USD60 million overhaul of the interiors and exteriors. The regeneration, spearheaded by renowned interior designer Didier Lefort of DL2A, was centred around the resort’s guest rooms, suites and villas; the construction of a Nature Centre; additional spa pavilions; a refreshed retail space; and a fitness centre by the beach.
Céline Maginel is a seasoned connoisseur of luxury hospitality with 20 years’ experience, and most recently helmed the role of director of sales at Hôtel Byblos Saint-Tropez.
Meanwhile, Melissa Mohan has a unique understanding of the media landscape in Asia Pacific with more than 15 years’ experience in marketing and communications. Prior to The Datai Langkawi, she held executive roles with St. Regis, The Westin, Le Méridien as well as Singapore-based Park Hotel Group.
Stéphanie Walters will lead sales with almost 10 years of experience and a global outlook derived from living and working in Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, and South East Asia. Walters has worked with international hotel management companies such as One&Only Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Jumeirah Hotels.
Maginel, Mohan and Walters will be based at the resort’s Kuala Lumpur office.
