Three leading industry associations, the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), have joined forces to launch the Global MICE Collaborative, an initiative to help develop the MICE industry in emerging markets across Asia, Latin America and Africa.
Following the announcement at IMEX America, we sat down with SITE CEO, Didier Scaillet, to learn more about the collaborative’s mission, and what it means for Asia.
The Global MICE Collaborative is founded on five key pillars:
Professional competencies – delivering comprehensive education and certification to develop the workforce and advance the professionalism of the industry.
Live events – bringing MICE professionals together in experiences that provide ongoing professional development and business exchanges.
Peer-to-peer engagement – providing access to a combined community of more than 73,000 across the globe.
Destination consulting – providing consultation, market research and trade education to tourism and destination marketing organisations, venue operators, and event organisers.
Research and advocacy – raising awareness of the value of the MICE industry and propel the industry forward by delivering data-driven trend reporting and pan-industry initiatives.
