The Westin Kuala Lumpur appoints new GM

The seasoned hospitality professional looks to expand the brand further into the local market.

Gregory Gubiani has been appointed as the new general manager of The Westin Kuala Lumpur. Armed with more than 14 years of hospitality experience, Gubiani kick-started his career in the Maldives. After various managerial positions with Starwood Hotels in New Caledonia, Australia and New Zealand, Gubiani moved to Southeast Asia in 2011, where he led Le Méridien hotels in  Kuala Lumpur and Bali.

Prior to joining The Westin Kuala Lumpur, he served as general manager of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral from 2015 to 2018. His leadership won him the Marriott International General Manager Leadership Award in 2017.

Commenting on his new appointment, Gubiani says: “Westin is a brand that I enjoy the philosophy on wellbeing and a healthy mind for a healthy body. I look forward to providing the best wellness programmes to guests and enhance their well-being when they need it the most while travelling.”
