MITEC grows due to market demand

Malaysia’s mega centre adds new multipurpose meeting rooms.

The Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has made a strategic move to expand its meeting spaces with the addition of two new meeting rooms.

Touted as the country’s largest trade and exhibition space, the venue has hosted more than 180 business events since its inception in 2017.

“It makes perfect sense for us to leverage on our current capacity and abilities to further expand our meetings and conferences business,” MITEC CEO, Gunther Beissel, says.

Set to open in September 2019, MITCE’s new flexible spaces will be located on Level 1A of the building. The larger room can accommodate 1,200 pax theatre-style, and banquet seating for up to 650 pax. The slightly smaller room can host 400 pax theatre-style, or 240 pax for banquet events. The rooms can also be used as smaller exhibition spaces that are close to the venue’s existing conference rooms.

Beissel adds: “As a premier venue partner, MITEC’s facilities are continuously upgraded to stay ahead of its market demand through offering higher-value, customised client solutions and in-house expertise.”

The centre currently houses 11 exhibition halls, one ballroom, 13 meetings rooms and two outdoor amphitheatres.
