New event formats bring home the bacon.
Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria took home the top gong for ‘Best Business Event Venue Experience’ at this year’s Singapore Tourism Awards, while the Singapore Fintech Festival 2018 and Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific 2018 scored wins for ‘Best Trade Conference Organiser’ and ‘Best Exhibition Organiser’, respectively, at the awards ceremony last week.
Beating stiff competition, the win for Singapore EXPO rides high on a wave of customer-centric changes, with new facilities and services set to launch at the end of the year.
“We are honoured to have won this award for the second year running; which represents a strong validation from our industry peers,” SingEx Holdings CEO, Aloysius Arlando, said. “We have our clients to thank for having given us the opportunities to showcase our capabilities. Without their trust and partnership, we would not have been able to make an impact with our customer-centric approach in driving event management success.”
He added: “It is imperative that event venues meet the specific demands of clients, and events must transform to offer seamless onsite-to-online platforms, multi-sensorial experiences and varied networks of companies and communities to ensure attendees benefit from maximum return on engagement.”
The five-day Singapore Fintech Festival attracted a record 45,000 attendees from 130 countries and generated investments of more than US$6.2 billion via its deal-making portal and the signing of 29 cooperation agreements between Monetary Authority of Singapore and its international counterparts.
Meanwhile, the inaugural Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific event attracted 15,000 unique attendees with its customised ‘Learning Journey’ experience.
Commenting on the wins by both shows, James Boey, SingEx Exhibitions executive director, said: “Singapore Fintech Festival and Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific have both created a powerful momentum in their respective ecosystems, with far-reaching developments that have spurred industry and organisational growth.”
Sentosa in focus
Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) clinched the award for ‘Best Meetings/Incentives Organiser’, a first-time win for the integrated resort.
In 2018, RWS welcomed 3,500 delegates from the Amway India Incentive Movement for a highly-customised five-day programme. Delegates indulged in luxurious hotel stays, engaged in seminars and programmes at the Resorts World Ballroom and experienced an adrenaline rush at Adventure Cove Waterpark.
Every aspect of the itinerary was meticulously customised: from a senior Amway representative making a grand speedboat entrance at Universal Studios Singapore’s WaterWorld live-action show, an ‘underwater’ VIP dinner with 100,000 animals at S.E.A. Aquarium, to the column-free ballroom with 270-degree projection and specially-fitted rotating stage for an immersive theatrical experience (pictured).
