Largest-ever show sees exhibitors embrace imagination and sustainability.
The ninth edition of IMEX America took place at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas this week (10-12 September), where the trade show floor was larger than ever before.
Several exhibitors embraced this year’s IMEX Talking Point of ‘Imagination’, as well as the IMEX Group’s quest to improve sustainable practices throughout the industry (watch our video below).
Leading by example, this year’s IMEX America show was powered entirely by renewable energy, with 93 per cent of waste diverted from landfill.
While awaiting final attendee numbers, IMEX chairman Ray Bloom said the 2019 show saw a record number of pre-scheduled appointments, with 76,000 appointments secured online ahead of the event (a three per cent increase on 2018).
Speaking at the closing press conference, Bloom said: “As many of you know, every year we strive to be our own competition, to push ourselves to deliver richer experiences, better education and, of course, a really strong business pipeline for our exhibitors.
“Our partners keep rising to the occasion too. We’ve seen some spectacular booths and activations this year and are delighted to see so many exhibitors aligning with our annual Talking Point and using it so innovatively each year. Their level of investment and commitment to business is remarkable.
“Equally the feedback about the quality and variety of our education programme has been second to none this year.”
Bloom also revealed the IMEX Talking Point for 2020 and 2021 will be ‘Nature’.
“We’ll be exploring what nature can do for us, and what we can do for nature and we’ll be running this theme over two years to give it the traction it deserves,” he said.
