Refreshed INSPIRE programme offers meeting and event planners more than 60 complimentary experiences for corporate groups.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) launched the first global edition of its ‘In Singapore Incentives & Rewards’ (INSPIRE) programme at IMEX America last week to attract more international meetings and events to the Lion City.
In partnership with 29 local Singapore businesses, the global INSPIRE programme offers event planners a selection of 63 complimentary group experiences, including team-building activities, networking opportunities and thematic tours.
Previously reserved for corporate groups from Southeast Asia and select regions, the programme will now be open to groups worldwide.
The global launch of INSPIRE follows a 12 per cent increase in business travellers and event delegate arrivals in 2018.
STB deputy chief executive, Melissa Ow, says: “We are delighted to launch the global INSPIRE programme on the back of our stellar results for ‘BTMICE’ [business travellers and MICE] visitors to Singapore in 2018.
“Building on the positive reception received for the previous INSPIRE programme that was offered to corporate groups in Southeast Asia and specific regions, the new global INSPIRE includes markets such as the Americas, North Asia, Oceania and more.”
Ow says STB worked with local businesses to curate a selection of experiences specifically for business event delegates and corporate groups.
“These incentives have been designed to complement groups’ itineraries and provide exclusive experiences that showcase the best of what Singapore has to offer,” she says.
Immersive event experiences include:
- Bespoke cocktail-making in the Botanic Gardens using herbs and spices found in Singapore
- An insider tour of the One North precinct, Singapore’s Silicon Valley, with exclusive fireside chats with founders of successful start-ups.
- A private, after-hours Garden Rhapsody show at Gardens by the Bay, complete with city night views from the OCBC Skyway.
To qualify for INSPIRE, business events must take place between September 2019 and 31 December 2021. Corporate meeting and incentive groups should have a minimum of 20 foreign attendees and stay for at least three days in Singapore.
Interested groups should register their interest by 31 March 2021.
