City bureau sharpens focus on post-COVID-19 recovery efforts.
Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) recently launched an enhanced PLUS SEOUL programme with additional support initiatives to boost MICE recovery efforts in response to COVID-19.
Under the programme, SCB has committed to support more MICE events and increase the value of its financial support. It has lowered the minimum number of international participants required for events to qualify for financial support.
In addition, events that have not been cancelled but instead postponed to a later part of 2020 stand to receive additional financial aid.
Extending its support programme through co-marketing efforts, SCB is also partnering with other cities to encourage multi-destination events in Korea.
In February, SCB set up the Seoul MICE Support Center to help industry players face the challenges of the virus outbreak. It provides professional consultation to event professionals in the areas of labour, accounting, taxation, administration and law. It also acts as a resource centre to guide and advise industry players on the latest COVID-19 updates.
SCB says it is dedicated towards partnerships and building strong alliances between public and private sectors, the environment, people and events so that the industry can bounce back strongly from the impact of the virus outbreak.
