Poll: Top considerations for travel to resume

According to a survey conducted in April 2020 in Japan by JTB Corp. on changes in lifestyle and attitudes towards travelling after the coronavirus outbreak, the largest share of respondents, around 45.6 percent, stated that they would only go outside or travel again, when a therapeutic agent or vaccine is publicly available to treat the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Following the declaration of the state of emergency in several prefectures at the beginning of the month, the emergency order was extended to a nationwide level on April 16. With the government requesting citizens to practice self-restraint and remain at home, domestic travels were restricted and entry bans were issued for inbound travelers.
