China - How Pico turned on the turbo for a few of the biggest automobiles at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2016 (Auto China 2016).

Inaugurated in 1990, the 14th Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, also known as Auto China 2016, occupied a colossal space of 220,000 sq m at the China International Exhibition Center from April 25 – May 4, 2016. Over 1,600 exhibitors from 14 countries participated and showcased 1,179 vehicles from more than 100 brands hailing from all over the world to a staggering total of 815,000 visitors. Over 110 new vehicles were unveiled, including 79 Chinese brands and 33 international marques, making this one of the most anticipated event of the year.

Pico built and drove brand activations for a total of 18 brands at Auto China 2016.

LEXUS

For LEXUS, Pico designed, built and project managed a challenging series of activations, spread over three booths that were located indoors and outdoors. Pico had to show off the brand’s outstanding and luxurious features from various angles and engage visitors on multiple levels. Through a precise use of timing, a moveable screen, lighting and audio, the showcase for the international launch of the new LEXUS model IS, the Asian debut of the LEXUS LC500h, and the Chinese launch of the LEXUS LF-FC attracted numerous compliments from high level management from LEXUS, the media, dealers and visitors alike.

Toyota

Design and fabrication services for Toyota’s massive 2,495-sq m stand included a VIP room, a HYBRID technology section, a stage and an exhibition area. The booth’s futuristic look was enhanced through decorative elements created with integrated circuits and the inner components of computer hardware, while the bold use of colour enhanced both the high-tech and high-quality elements of the brand. The Toyota booth’s walls were building models with LED screens projecting 3D high-definition video, while Toyota’s dual-engine technology display area was designed with a luminosity wall to highlight the futuristic feel.

Leopaard

The up-and-coming Chinese brand Leopaard got Pico to provide design, fabrication and project management work for their 513 sq m stand. The booth’s complex structure and LED screen installation, which included an interactive augmented reality technology made for a challenging fabrication that paid off.

And more

Other brands at the show that Pico either designed, built, operated or managed projects for include SAIC Commercial Vehicles, Soueast, Nissan, Brilliance, Venucia, GAC Fiat Chrysler, Volvo and Geely. The team also provided fabrication services for DF Peugeot, Dongfeng, Mitsubishi, Jatco and LeEco.
