Business Events Australia’s signature incentive showcase brought some 94 qualified international buyers and 19 media representatives into Brisbane, a city ready to embrace modern industries like emerging technologies and start-ups.
Brisbane was selected to host Dreamtime 2017 at a time of major investment in infrastructure, hotel builds, new incentive products and experiences. The showcase is set to expand on the city’s strong track record of hosting major international events, including the G20 Brisbane Summit, the World Science Festival Brisbane, and most recently, the Rugby League World Cup 2017.
Australian sellers across all states and territories met with buyers and media on Monday, December 4th 2017, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, to provide product updates and competitive advantages that draw buyers who are seeking to encourage and reward high performances within their teams with the ultimate goal of achieving better business outcomes.
Brisbane rolled out their local champion influencers including renowned “Mao’s Last Dancer” Li Cunxin and World Welterweight Champion boxer Jeff Horn who shared their excitement of the $10 billion infrastructure development to boost the city’s tourism, business events, retail and residential offerings by 2022 at an exclusive meet-and-greet session at rooftop bar, Eleven.
Key projects underway in Brisbane include the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project, Northshore Hamilton development and Howard Smith Wharves project. The team of Howard Smith Wharves project were present at Eleven with key visuals of the brand new 1,024 sq m, 5.5m event space, Howard’s Hall with stunning views of the Brisbane CBD, ready to deliver banquet events for up to 900 guests by last quarter of 2018.
Brisbane is also set to benefit from the New Parallel Runway development at Brisbane Airport, boosting passenger numbers from 22 million to about 50 million, and major road upgrades like the $650 million Kingsford Smith Drive project.
The Brisbane Convention Bureau launched the new Brisbane Signature Experiences itinerary, which includes 14 immersive and authentic incentive experiences over four days to showcase the product diversity Brisbane has to offer.
Brisbane Convention Bureau Acting General Manager Juliet Alabaster said “Whether they are touring the internationally acclaimed Gallery of Modern Art, experiencing an exhilarating helicopter flight over the spectacular Moreton Bay region, or indulging in bespoke laneway dining, this itinerary treats guests to a truly Australian experience that only Brisbane can offer.”
