Within the span of a decade, former military and political bases in Singapore have been transformed into art sanctuaries, with iconic landmarks altering the city's creative landscape like never before.
Home to world-class museums, galleries and more, Singapore packs a punch for a city-state just two-thirds the size of New York. Here, we highlight some of the best ways to experience Singapore’s newfound creative confidence.

Launched in 2017, Surviving the Japanese Occupation: War and its Legacies – An Exhibition, is a permanent World War Two exhibition presented by the National Archives of Singapore at the Former Ford Factory. National Gallery is Singapore’s largest visual-arts venue boasting the most extensive collection of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art in the world. The former Supreme Court and city hall took 10 years and SGD532 million to become two of the nation’s most striking national monuments today. Apart from its myriad of unique spaces available for events, conferences, and workshops, National Gallery Singapore also houses a suite of curated dining and retail venues.

Marina Bay Sands is a treasure trove of gems for the creatively inclined. Its ArtScience Museum, located within the integrated resort, specialises in touring exhibitions that push the boundaries of science, technology and knowledge, apart from its permanent exhibition, Future World: Where Art Meets Science. Spanning 6,000 sq m, it houses 21 gallery spaces in a building reminiscent of a lotus flower – a work of art in its own right.
Wind down at LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar as the sun begins to set against Singapore’s city skyline. Perched 57 storeys above Marina Bay Sands, the Italian-American bistro channels a 19th-century vibe complete with a sprawling outdoor terrace, an outdoor bar, and a gelato cart.
As Singapore continues to rake in more venues for art, design, and history, harnessing its strength on the global stage with its melting pot of cultures and top-notch accessibility to facilities and services, corporate and incentive travel groups never seem to tire of options to plan its programmes.
