The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is giving events a refreshed platform with its new 15,000 sq ft (1,393.5 sq m) transparent overwater pool cover.
Following a recent transformation, the brand new outdoor swimming pool boasts a three-tiered timber pool deck flanked by sun loungers, private cabanas, a pool bar and an outdoor grill. Located next to the new Ritz-Carlton Spa and Gym, this holistic lifestyle and events arena on level one can be booked for exclusive use.
“In our endeavour to innovate the luxury hotel experience, we came up with the concept of offering our guests a versatile outdoor lifestyle events venue through providing the flexibility of holding events over water through partially or completely covering the pool. We are the first luxury hotel in Singapore to offer this capability of transforming events with a pool cover,” said Peter Mainguy, General Manager.
Made of Plexiglas, also known as acrylic glass, the transparent Plexiglas table-tops are extremely durable and have been engineered to support weights of up to 800 kilogrammes per cube.
When placed into the water, the standing Plexiglas-top cubes can be custom-built to take on various shapes; from a rectangle to a square or even T-shaped to accommodate the entire length and or width of the pool or just a portion to suit a variety of purposes.
These include a car or product launch; a pool party; a gala dinner for 150 to 200 persons; a cocktail reception for 150 to 450 persons; an outdoor concert with a dancefloor for 200 persons; a fashion show; or even a wedding.
The outdoor atmosphere can be accentuated with the possibility of video projection mapping, LED lighting in the trees and foliage, as well as underwater lighting to supplement the pool’s floodlights.
With a new entrance accessible via Raffles Avenue, guests attending events by the pool now have the option of dropping off or valet parking instead of having to go through the main hotel lobby and/or carpark.
